Fourteen years ago, I wrote about a cage
I wrote a poem.
A cage that held love, with love,
An open cage, with door unlocked
And a bird tucked in:
Happy, free, and tethered wirelessly.
I wrote a poem.
A cage that held love, with love,
An open cage, with door unlocked
And a bird tucked in:
Happy, free, and tethered wirelessly.
Fourteen years later,
The cage disappeared
And the bird remains tethered aimlessly.
Love appeared, and disappeared.
The cage disappeared
And the bird remains tethered aimlessly.
Love appeared, and disappeared.
I remained, at the same spot.
Meanwhile, built a cage to nestle in
And then burnt it to the ground
To escape it.
Meanwhile, built a cage to nestle in
And then burnt it to the ground
To escape it.
Still.
Still, I keep floating
On this same hazy spot
Between the mist and mystery:
Borderlands of desire, despair, and joy.
Still, I keep floating
On this same hazy spot
Between the mist and mystery:
Borderlands of desire, despair, and joy.
